These days, I love my work.
I thrive on serving passionate entrepreneurs. Their deep desire to make a real difference in the world inspires me. I know from experience that it takes courage to wake up every morning and face the uncertainty of being a business owner.
While I’m happy to share my knowledge of business strategy, I like to infuse it with magic and meaning and love. I believe success in your business comes from the energy you create. I believe that everyone, and especially those people who have the courage to lead, deserve the support of someone who believes in them.
Your relationship with your work should serve you, my friend.
If it feels like it’s the other way around, then it’s time for a change.
In my life, the first big, beautiful change came the day I left corporate life to be an independent copywriter, and become a mom. Hey, if you’re going to invite the power of change into your life, why not play big?
I grew that first copywriting business to six figures.
Then after 15 years, another big change came, when I purchased a seven figure marketing agency from one of my clients. Suddenly I was leading a team of ten and working at the forefront to serve our prestigious corporate clients.
Often I felt like everyone I talked to wanted to give me advice about what I should be doing. There were so many gurus and experts, but the things they were saying didn’t always feel right to me.
Finally, I received one piece of advice that was actually helpful. It was only two words,
Suddenly it hit me. I’m at the head of this company not only because I’m masterful at my craft. I’m here because I’m the one that knows how to lead and be successful. Whatever I think I ought to do grow this business, It won’t ever work unless it’s also in line with who I really want to be as person.
In 2008, when the economic downturn came along, I tapped into a well of creativity I hadn’t dreamed that I possessed. I grew and learned from the constant challenges and inevitable leaps of faith of being a business owner. Was it magic that made my business grow too? I’ll let you decide what you want to call it.
Some of my life’s greatest joys arose from my willingness to go on in the face of uncertainty.
The difficult times were some of my greatest teachers. Each time I thought I had failed, I got up and started again. I connected with the wisest part of myself that was yearning to grow. I asked myself what I needed. And I found a way to get it. I didn’t do this only in my businesses. I did it in every part of my life.
So whatever you’re yearning to do next in your business, I invite you to walk that magical path with me.
I’ll remind you how powerful you truly are as you find your way to success on your terms. And we’ll laugh together along the way.
